Dear MB Qasmi
Assalamualekum
I have a question. My colleague, a Bangladeshi, always points out that in his country Muslims often touch the feet of their parents whenever they meet after a gap. he sought the reference of Imam Hasan and Hussein, the grand children of the Prophet (PBUH), often touched his feet and the Prophet (PBUH) never stopped them doing. I disagreed since in Islam such traditions are not allowed, so far I have known from elders. I tried to search the facts but failed.
I request you to enlighten me on the subject with references from Quran and Hadith.
In Saudi Arabia, talk about about such things can put someone in deep trouble. Last year, what happened a man got a parcel from India in which his parents sent him amulets. The Police, after frisking, asked the man about it. After his explanation, and you know what he would have said, he was arrested. After much explanations from some influential people, he was released.
You can place this question in EC as well, if you like.
Warm regards
M Shamsur Rabb Khan
Abha, Saudi Arabia
