The concept of providing modern education in English through a string of Markaz Schools owes its genesis to the vision and farsightedness of Moulana Badaruddin Ajmal, the President and founder of Markaz Schools. Mr. Ajmal conceived of the Markaz Schools with a holistic vision intermingling an islamic aura with modern content.

To bring out the full potential of children and inculcate in then a spirit of confidance, dignity and self respect by way of boosting their physical, ethical and moral values, very much required by an honest, bold, concious and responsible citizen of the country.

The Markaz Schools ar to be centres of excellence of modern education in an Islamic environment with its basic ideals.

Markaz Academy, an English medium residential high school for boys was established at the outskirt of Hojai town in the year 1994 by Markazul Ma’arif under its Department of Education. Located on a sprawling campus with blocks of exquistely beautiful buildings for hostel, staff quarters, library, computer lab and other infrastructural necessities, Markaz Academy has been attracting students from far flung areas not only of Assam but entire North-East and some other states of the country also. The teachers at the Academy are competent, experienced, diligent and caring enough.

Markaz Academies have also been founded in Guwahati, Tezpur, Nazir, Rupahi, Karimganj and Tinsukia. The very first batch of Markaz Academy, Hojai, showed brilliant and hundred percent (100%) result in the H.S.L.C. exam, 2004. We do expect and strive our best by enfuelling the students from various angles to embrace the same and even better results in the years to come. Our persevering endeavour is to transform the Academy into an epoch-making institution in the North-eastern Region.
