Assam witnesses heavy thunderstorms and rainfall with the onset of Monsoon Season. This thunderstorm is popularly known as Bordoichila in the local dialect. Like the devastation caused by the yearly and recurring floods, thunderstorms also cause significant damage to human property. This year too, the thunderstorms and strong winds have destroyed many households by uprooting the roofs of the houses. Markazul Ma’arif has immediately rushed to the rescue of those households whose household were damaged, roofs were uprooted by the storms, and Markazul Ma’arif (NGO) provided them with tarpaulins for immediate relief to have a shed overhead. These tarpaulins will be used as makeshift rooftops so that the interiors of the houses are not further damaged by the torrential rains. Location : Dobka pathar, Changmaji, Hojai
